With today's semi-final victory over England, the U.S. Women's National team is one victory away from repeating as World Cup champions. The title of today's post refers to last week's quarterfinal victory over France. In that match, U.S. coach Jill Ellis used 4 different team alignments throughout the game. This is unusual but served to confound the French team and secure a U.S. victory against its toughest tournament opponent to date. The U.S. team was not reacting to the French...they had planned to change alignments periodically throughout the match.
